This information is taken from the Dignity website (below),

Dignity was started by Barry & Carole in 1992 and is now run by three generations of the Spurgeon Family.

We decided to start our service after watching a distressing TV documentary that led us to discover what

normally happens to your pet if you choose the services that are often offered through veterinary surgeries.

Our aim is to give pet owners peace of mind that their much loved pet is not only looked after on their own but with the dignity and respect that they deserve.

We tailor our service to meet your needs and can collect your pet from your home or vet in a bespoke pet hearse.

Alternatively you may bring your pet to us and say goodbye to them in the privacy of our Farewell Room.

Our Immediate Cremation Service enables you to stay in the local area whilst your pet’s individual cremation takes place allowing you to collect their ashes later the same day should you wish.

Established 1992

Sadly many veterinary practices contract to large disposal companies, often with appealing names, that

usually collect clinical waste and pets for mass cremation at the same time as pets for individual cremation. The way pets are handled and cremated is usually completely different from how we treat your pet.

If you would like our service then you should contact us directly to ensure that your pet is cared for in the way that you want. You should also instruct your vet that you wish to use Dignity otherwise your pet will be sent to the company that your vet is contracted to and you may receive a very different kind of service.
